It was full house Sunday, Jan 29th at The Slowdown in Omaha for New Found Glory's intimate Make The Most of It Acoustic Tour with special guest Leanna Firestone. This legendary pop-punk band is going on 25 years and hit the road following the release of their new acoustic album Make The Most of It. New Found Glory is an American rock band from Coral Springs, Florida, formed in 1997. Currently, the group consists of Jordan Pundik (lead vocals), Ian Grushka (bass guitar), Chad Gilbert (lead guitar, backing vocals), and Cyrus Bolooki (drums).

Widely recognized for their fast and energetic pop-punk music, the band temporarily moved to an alternative rock style with their album Coming Home in 2006. The aforementioned Coming Home was viewed as a change in direction for the band with its more layered and mid-tempo sound and has been described as a "somber, honest, polished and alternative record." They have been an influence on many of our favorites throughout the years including bands like All Time Low, Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, and Paramore. They are one of the most popular and successful pop-punk bands of all time, and their music has helped to define the genre.

Special guest and tour opener Leanna Firestone walked out on stage with her guitar to get things started and welcome the crowd. Leanna wears her heart in her music and if you've ever had a crush, been in a relationship, had a broken heart, crushed on someone, or have been in love Leanna and her guitar have some music you'll relate to. She hit all the feels tonight and you felt every emotion. The honest truths she writes about are something we can all relate to. The crowd was hooked and before her set ended we were even singing along to the chorus of 'You Just Didn't Like Me That Much'. She's an honest storyteller with a lot to share. Her ep 'Public Displays of Affection' is out now! You can find her music and social accounts to follow right HERE

Then it was time for New Found Glory. It was a chilly night outside that night but The Slowdown sure was warm inside. If you have ever been to a NFG show you know just how high-energy their sets are and how animated they get on stage. An unplugged/acoustic set can be very challenging for bands but not for New Found Glory. It was an intimate acoustic set that evening. They played several new songs from their latest release Make The Most of It as well as acoustic versions of some of their classics such as My Friends Over You and of course, It's All Downhill From Here. The slowdown that night felt less like a music venue and more like an intimate house show. It felt like we were all witnessing magic in a way and everyone in attendance that night was in on a secret. The boys played great, sounded amazing, and even got the crowd laughing at times.

The Make The Most of It tour with special guest Leanna Firestone launched from St. Louis, MO on January 28th at The Delmore Hall and goes through March 23rd ending at The Miami Beach Bandshell in Miami Beach, FL.
